The European Competence Centre for Social Innovation under the ESF+ Social Innovation+ Initiative aims to accelerate the transfer and scale-up of tested innovative solutions, particularly in employment and labor mobility, education and social inclusion, including contributing to poverty eradication. The Centre contributes to a more social and inclusive Europe, implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights and fair, green, and digital transitions.

The Lithuanian European Social Fund Agency has been entrusted to implement the initiative during the 2021-2027 period and to establish the European Competence Center for Social Innovation, which is responsible for implementing the initiatives of social innovation within the Member States of the European Union.

The Centre collects, assesses, develops, validates, and disseminates suitable tools and methods for social innovation, such as the European Social Innovation Database. To this end, the Centre works in close cooperation with the National Competence Centers for Social Innovation.
